The Millennium Bridge

January 27th, 2005

The Millennium Bridge in London, this bridge is the only pedestrian footbridge to cross the thames in over 100 years. The 320m-long structure was designed by the architect Sir Norman Foster with sculptor Sir Anthony Caro and engineers Arup. It connects St. Paul’s Cathedral to the north with The Tate Modern on the south (bankside). It’s a pretty cool bridge and I think it’s great to be able to gaze up and down the Thames in relative peace, what with there being no cars about. Awesome.
